Guruprasad Kurtkoti "Guru" is passionate farmer, coach and a writer. Leaving a well paid job in United States wasn't at all easy. However, that extreme step was to fulfill his dreams of paying forward! Guru with his wife Asha founded Belesiri, with a focus on educating people on scientific farming techniques such as Hydroponics (aka Soil-less farming).

 

He trained more than 2000 students as on Apr 2021. Most of his students were able to jump-start business and scale in no time under his assistance and guidance and also with the help of the community HyFAI Farms he founded. The community model helps implement the concepts effectively and establish best practices. The objective is to help the small to medium scale farmers to find the right market and sell their produce effectively.

Guru spends his weekdays practicing natural farming at his farm land near Haveri, while his spare time is well spent writing stories and articles in leading Kannada magazines and news papers. He lives in Kodigehalli, Bengaluru with his wife and lovely daughter.

ಗುರುಪ್ರಸಾದ ಕುರ್ತಕೋಟಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಿ ರೈತರು, ತರಬೇತುದಾರರು ಹಾಗೂ ಲೇಖಕರು. ೨೦ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಮೇರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ Software company ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ನಿಭಾಯುಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಕನಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಕಾರಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಲಕ್ಷಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ಸಂಪಾದನೆಯಿದ್ದ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವುದು ಅಷ್ಟು ಸುಲಭದ ನಡೆ ಆಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಕೃಷಿ ಮಾಡಿ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯ ಬದುಕನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಕನಸಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶುರುವಾದ ಅವರ ಪಯಣದ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಆಶಯ ತನ್ನ ತರಹದ ಎಷ್ಟೊ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಆ ದಿಶೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡುವುದು ಕೂಡ ಆಗಿತ್ತು.

ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ‌ ಪತ್ನಿ ಆಶಾ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ "ಬೆಳೆಸಿರಿ" ಎಂಬ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಆಧುನಿಕ ಕೃಷಿ ವಿಧಾನಗಳಾದ Hydroponics / ಮಣ್ಣುರಹಿತ ಕೃಷಿಯನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸಿಕೊಡುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾನಮನಸ್ಕ ರೈತರ ಬಳಗವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವುದೆ ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೆ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಜನರಿಗೆ ತರಬೇತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ತಮ್ಮ‌ ಪತ್ನಿ ಆಶಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಗಳು ಪರಿಧಿಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ ಅವರು ಹಾವೇರಿ ಸಮೀಪದ ದಾಸನಕೊಪ್ಪ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಕೃಷಿಯಲ್ಲಿ‌ ಕೂಡ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಸಮಯವನ್ನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೀಸಲಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
